Danes to team up with Gere

Claire Danes is expected to appear alongside Richard Gere in a thriller called The Flock.

Gere will play the role of a federal agent, with Danes his understudy, as the pair hunt down a missing girl who might be connected to a sex offender under their investigation.

The Flock will be directed by Wai Keung Lau, the man behind the critically acclaimed Infernal Affairs films, in what will be his first English-language project.

The script has been penned by Hans Bauer and Craig Mitchell, who have written films including Anaconda and Highwaymen.

Danes can be seen on cinema screens before then with her new film Shopgirl, which was written by and will star Steve Martin.

Previously, she has starred in Terminator 3, The Hours, Igby Goes Down and Romeo + Juliet.

Gere's recent credits include Shall We Dance and Chicago.
