Hill turned down Transformers sequel for Funny People

Funnyman Jonah Hill turned down the chance to join Shia Labeouf in the Transformers sequel so he could make Funny People with his hero Adam Sandler.

The Superbad star dismisses reports he wanted too much money for the sidekick role in the blockbuster and insists his decision was a simple one.

He tells Complex magazine, "I love (director) Michael Bay, but it (film) just wasn't right. I wouldn't have been able to do Funny People if I'd done it."
