Coppola blasts Brando's bad reputation
Late acting legend Marlon Brando was a misunderstood eccentric, according to Francis Ford Coppola, the director who knew him best. Coppola cast Brando in two of his most famous roles as mafia boss Don Vito Corleone in The Godfather and Colonel Kurtz in Apocalypse Now. And the Oscar-winning director insists Brando's reputation as a difficult diva was unfair. Coppola says, "Marlon was never hard to work with. His behaviour was a little eccentric on the set. He was like a bad boy and did what he wanted. But as an actor he was never hard to work with."
