Winslet's dad axed from movie soundtrack by Madonna

Kate Winslet's father missed out on penning the soundtrack for Guy Ritchie's movie Snatch - because the director's ex-wife Madonna refused to let the actress' dad get involved.

The Titanic star's father Roger is an accomplished musician, and performs with punk rocker Pete Brooks in the band Bidgie Reef & The Gas.

Roger claims the group was preparing to contribute a song to the gangster movie's soundtrack - until the Queen of Pop found out about his involvement.

Madonna was allegedly left fuming when she discovered Roger was Winslet's father, and axed the planned track from the film.

Roger tells the Daily Mail, "Me and Pete heard that Guy Ritchie was making a follow up to Lock Stock (and Two Smoking Barrels), so a mutual friend sent him a tape of a track that I had only just written, in fact it was our first ever song. Apparently he absolutely loved it and asked us to go down to his place at Chelsea Harbour.

"When we got there he played it and played it again saying that it was perfect for the soundtrack. I thought, 'Lovely we've cracked it'.

"However, unbeknown to me, Madonna, Ritchie's wife at the time, was in on the music selection. I heard that as soon as she knew who my daughter was, she scuppered it."

Madonna and Ritchie split last year (08) after seven years of marriage.
