Lohan joins Estevez project

Lindsay Lohan is the latest high-profile name to join the cast of indie film Bobby, the story of the assassination of Robert F Kennedy.

Fresh from starring in Herbie: Fully Loaded and Mean Girls, Lohan will join a collection of co-stars which already includes Sir Anthony Hopkins, Demi Moore, Sharon Stone and Elijah Wood.

Bobby is written and directed by Emilio Estevez, who made a name for himself acting in films such as The Outsider, Stakeout, Young Guns and The Mighty Ducks, and is now forging a career as a director.

The film will focus on 22 people who were at the Ambassador Hotel at the time of the assassination of Senator Kennedy, which took place in June 1968.

Lohan has only just finished filming another indie production, A Prairie Home Companion, which will star Meryl Streep, Tommy Lee Jones, Woody Harrelson, Kevin Kline and John C Reilly.
