Best of the 80s come to DVD

Some of the best teen films of the 80s, which have now become classics, are being released on DVD.

A special edition of the The Karate Kid was released on Monday and next week sees the Back To The Future trilogy coming out.

The Karate Kid, directed by John G. Avildsen who also made Rocky, will feature bonus material including documentaries and commentary from the cast, writer and director.

For fans of all The Karate Kid films, which starred Ralph Macchio in the title role and Pat Morita as Mr Miyagi, Karate Kid II, Karate Kid III and The Next Karate Kid, with Hilary Swank, are also being released and are available as a single box set.

Next week sees the release of Robert Zemeckis' Back To The Future trilogy in a box set with over nine hours of additional material on four separate discs including deleted scenes, outtakes, documentaries and commentary from Zemeckis and co-writer Bob Gale.

The story of Michael J. Fox's character Marty McFly's journey alongside Dr. Emmett Brown (Christopher Lloyd) heading first back to the 1950s, then to 2015, and finally in the third part to 1855 has become a classic of 80s feel good films.
