Penguins take Hollywood

Following the success of the documentary March Of The Penguins, a new penguin cartoon will be coming to screens next year.

March Of The Penguins, to be released in the UK in December and a hot favourite for the Oscars, tells the story of the annual journey made by Emperor penguins on their way to mate and the struggle of raising their chicks.

The penguins' progress is brought alive by the narration of Morgan Freeman, one of the few actors to have played both the US president, in Deep Impact, and God, in Bruce Almighty.

The penguin invasion continues with the animated comedy Happy Feet.

Actors that have given their voices to the cartoon penguins include Lord Of The Rings star Elijah Wood, Robin Williams, X-Men's Hugh Jackman and Moulin Rouge actress Nicole Kidman.

Happy Feet is set in a world where penguins find their mates by singing, and tells the story of one unlucky bird who cannot sing, but can tap dance.
