Clooney and Coen brothers to team up

George Clooney has announced he is to direct a comedy penned by the cult film favourites the Coen brothers.

It will not be the first time behind the camera for the Solaris and The Perfect Storm star as he also directed Confessions Of A Dangerous Mind, starring Sam Rockwell, and Good Night And Good Luck, which will be released next year.

It is also not the first time Clooney and the brothers Joel and Ethan Coen have worked together. They all teamed up in the comedy O Brother, Where Art Thou?

The brothers first offered Clooney a role in the dark comedy, entitled Suburbicon, but the Spy Kids actor was too busy, so he decided to make room in his diary to step behind the camera.

The Coen brothers' film CV reads like a list of modern American classics with films such as Raising Arizona, Miller's Crossing, Fargo, The Hudsucker Proxy and The Big Lebowski, so it is hoped this next slice of their work will be just as good.
