Zombie king plans new sequel

4 stars out of 5.0
George A Romero, the man behind the Night Of The Living Dead, has announced he is working on a fifth film in the series.

The 1968 horror classic Night Of The Living Dead was followed up by Dawn Of The Dead a decade later, Day Of The Dead and this year's Land Of The Dead.

Initially the chances of a fifth slice of zombie action were low as Land Of The Dead failed to shine at the US box office.

However, Romero told Empire: "Now that Land Of The Dead did so well in European markets and Japan, and the DVD is flying off shelves, there's talk of a sequel."

He added: "There's a real buzz happening now about a sequel."

Breaking with tradition, the next Dead film will follow the characters from Land Of The Dead as they make their way to Canada to escape the plague of zombies.

Romero is also working on two Steven King adaptations From A Buick 8 and The Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon.
