Hello! Leslie Phillips and Peter O'Toole head to Venus

Two of Britain's acting greats Peter O'Toole and Leslie Phillips are set to star together in a new film Venus.

The film, directed by Roger Michell (Enduring Love, Notting Hill), has just started filming in London and tells the tale of two ageing actors.

Despite being 73 O'Toole always seems to be working, recently starring opposite Brad Pitt in Troy, as Casanova in the TV series and in the new film version of Lassie.

Phillips, who made his name as a lovable cad in films such as Carry On Nurse, Doctor In Love and more recently in Lara Croft: Tomb Raider and Harry Potter And The Chamber Of Secrets, and O'Toole will play the two actors, whose lives are turned upside down by the appearance of a great niece.

The pair decide to show her London and, in what is being billed as a 'coming of very old age' story, they discover a few home truths.

The movie will also star Vanessa Redgrave and Richard Griffiths and is written by Hanif Kureishi.
