Quaid's Berlin Wall memories

Actor Dennis Quaid was overjoyed to film scenes for upcoming movie Pandorum in Germany, because it brought back memories of his involvement in the fall of the Berlin Wall.

The 55 year old headed to the German capital to work on the sci-fi film - and was immediately reminded of his time spent in the city in 1989.

Quaid was so affected by footage of the run-up to the Berlin Wall being brought down, he made a special trip to be a part of it - and admits it was one of the most memorable moments of his life.

He tells Filmstar magazine, "I was here when the Wall came down. I was in London watching it on the news, what was leading up to it, so I decided to go over and be part of the party.

"It was one of the most fascinating experiences of my life. I got a pickaxe and took it to the wall. It was a remarkable experience. Coming back to shoot Pandorum - well, it's not quite the same feeling, although I do think it's a special film."
