Carlyle quits British cinema
The Full Monty star Robert Carlyle has vowed to venture away from British cinema - because audiences aren't interested in his movies. The actor believes he gave the performances of his life in his last two films, Summer and I Know You Now, but he's fed up they received a muted reaction. He says, "I made two movies about 18 months ago. In my opinion, I think they are the best performances I have ever given. I am very, very proud of these films. But they were only seen by about 20 people and I've had it. I'm not doing it for a while." The Trainspotting star will now devote time to working in the U.S., where he is currently shooting sci-fi TV series Stargate: Universe.
