Stars set to go red

Ahead of the Oscar nominations the stars and directors up for the Razzie awards have been named.

Given by the Golden Raspberry Award Foundation the awards recognise the worst films, directors and actors of the year.

Remakes and sequels, reminding people how good the originals were, dominated the worst film category.

Deuce Bigalow: European Gigolo (sequel to Deuce Bigalow: Male Gigolo) was joined in the list of shame along with Son Of The Mask, follow-up to The Mask, Dukes Of Hazzard and House Of Wax (originally starring Vincent Price and now with Paris Hilton).

The big names up for worst actor include Tom Cruise, for War Of The Worlds, Will Ferrell, for Bewitched and the soccer comedy Kicking & Screaming, and The Rock in Doom.

Meanwhile Jessica Alba, Jennifer Lopez and Jenny McCarthy are all up for worst actress.

For worst director Jay Chandrasekhar is in the running for The Dukes Of Hazzard along with Nora Ephron, who directed Nicole Kidman (nominated along with Farrell as worst screen couple) in Bewitched.

Other big stars that are up for awards in the supporting actor and actress categories include Hayden Christensen, Katie Holmes, Burt Reynolds and Jessica Simpson.

It is still not certain if any of the stars will be brave enough and follow the footsteps of Halle Berry who decided to pick up her Razzie in person after her film Catwoman was recognised by the awards.

The awards are far more than a big prank as over 700 Hollywood professionals vote for them, giving the insider's view on Hollywood.
