Chenoweth still waiting for job offers
Actress Kristin Chenoweth's appeal for work at the 2009 Primetime Emmy Awards has backfired - she's failed to receive any job offers since namedropping her favourite shows at the ceremony. The star landed the prize for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy for her role in Pushing Daisies last weekend (20Sep09), but her win was bittersweet - the programme was cancelled earlier this year (09). So a teary-eyed Chenoweth used her acceptance speech to beg for work, telling the Hollywood audience, "I'm unemployed now, so I'd like to be on Mad Men. I also like The Office, 24 - Hello (30 Rock star) Alec (Baldwin)... Thank you so much to the Academy for recognising a show that's no longer on the air." But almost a week after her public appeal, Chenoweth is still waiting for TV producers to call. She says, "Our show was cancelled so I thought, well, better take this time and say what shows you want to be on! But no, no (I haven't heard from anyone)."
