Tarantino on board for Hendrix biopicThe pop-culture obsessed director will have full access to the rock legends "music, likeness and brother Leon, to tell the shocking story", according to Dragonslayer. Writers are still working on the script, which is set to chronicle the life of the virtuoso guitar player who was named the greatest guitarist of all time by Rolling Stone magazine in 2003. Many film fans will be delighted at the news that acclaimed director Tarantino, who shot to fame in the nineties with classics like Reservoir Dogs and Pulp Fiction, has signed on for the project. Tarantino will also have Hendrix's studio musicians the Aleem brothers on hand as consultants for the film, which will begin shooting later in the year. It is unlikely that Tarantino will run short of material on the project, with a story that promises to take audiences from Vietnam to Woodstock to the soundtrack of classic hits such as Purple Haze, Hey Joe and The Wind Cries Mary.
