Orlando in awe of pirate Johnny

Orlando Bloom has admitted that filming sequel Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest was hard going because of the huge presence of Hollywood heavyweight Johnny Depp.

The 22-year-old actor, who reprises his role as blacksmith Will Turner in the swashbuckling blockbuster, claims that despite starring alongside Depp in the 2003 original, he was still a little bit starstruck.

"Starring with Johnny Depp raises the bar. It really does. It's intimidating sometimes too," he told OK! magazine.

The Edward Scissorhands actor received an Oscar nomination for his role as Keith Richards' swagger-inspired captain Jack Sparrow in the first film.

But Bloom added that the overall experience was a fantastic one, and he was looking forward to shooting the third film in the saga next year.

"Working with Johnny was really great. He's cool," the Elizabethtown star added.

The second Pirates of the Caribbean film opens in the UK on July 6th, with Brit beauty Keira Knightley also returning as damsel in distress Elizabeth Swann.

The film, which also stars British actors Bill Nighy and Mackenzie Crook, is set for its UK premiere tonight in London's Leicester Square.
