Hoffman planning directorial debut
Veteran actor Dustin Hoffman is planning to step behind the camera to officially direct his first movie at the age of 72.
The Oscar-winner is reportedly in talks to take charge of new film Quartet, based on a 1999 play of the same name, about a retirement home for opera singers in England.
Quartet is slated to begin filming later this year (10). Hoffman is listed as an uncredited director of 1978 film Straight Time but has never officially helmed a movie.
