Arterton: 'Low budget movies are refreshing'
Gemma Arterton will never abandon low-budget filmmaking - despite carving out a career as a Hollywood actress.
The star has found fame in blockbuster hits including Clash of the Titans and James Bond film Quantum of Solace, and she is set to appear alongside Jake Gyllenhaal in upcoming adventure movie Prince of Persia: The Sands Of Time.
But Arterton found it "refreshing" to return home to film new thriller The Disappearance Of Alice Creed, in which she plays a kidnap victim - and has vowed to continue to support smaller productions.
She says, "These are the sort of movies I am proud of and I will continue to make films like this. This is the sort of movie I always imagined I'd end up doing. This is the sort of movie I'd go to see in the cinema. It's basic, there's no frills with this sort of thing - it's refreshing for you when you're involved in the Hollywood machine.
"I've been very lucky in what I've been offered, and didn't know I'd get Prince of Persia and that kind of movie."
