Sophia Loren scoops 'most beautiful' award

Sophia Loren has been voted the world's most naturally beautiful person in an online poll.

The survey, conducted for the 'Dare To Be Bare' awards, placed the '60s sex symbol ahead of much younger competition, including silver fox George Clooney and curvy Welsh singer Charlotte Church.

But none were a match for the 71-year-old actress, whose beauty has survived the ravages of ageing remarkably well.

The star of Man Of La Mancha, El Cid and That Kind Of Woman said that spaghetti, olive oil baths and a love of life were the key to retaining her good looks.

But her spiritual qualities must also have been noticed, for the Archbishop of Genoa once said that, despite opposing human cloning, he might make an exception for Loren.

Loren, who carried the Olympic flag during last year's opening celebrations in Turin, is set to appear in next year's Pirelli calendar alongside Naomi Watts and Penelope Cruz.

Other naturally beautiful people gracing the top ten of the online poll include Johnny Depp, Kate Winslet, Gwyneth Paltrow and Gail Porter.
