Geller Addicted to thrillers

Following her stint in Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Sarah Michelle Gellar seems to have developed a taste for acting in thrillers.

The 29-year-old actress has signed up to star in Addicted, a thriller in which she plays a woman whose husband and brother-in-law end up in a coma.

Things take an even greater turn for the worse when the brother-in-law wakes up and is convinced that he is her husband, leaving her to fear that more sinister forces are at hand.

Based on the 2002 South Korean movie Jungdok, the independently-financed Addicted will be directed by Swedish filmmakers Joel Bergvall and Simon Sandquist.

Gellar has previously starred in the Asian-based thriller The Grudge and will be back on the big screen this autumn with its sequel.

She will also star in The Return, which is due to be shown in cinemas later this year, as a woman who begins having nightmares about a murder that occurred 15 years ago.

Looks like Gellar is set on carving herself a successful niche in the thriller genre.
