Kiss in surf named screen history's sexiest

Burt Lancaster and Deborah Kerr's kiss in the surf in From Here To Eternity has come top in a poll of the most memorable screen kisses of all time.

The chemistry between the two in the 1953 film managed to push the kiss between Kirsten Dunst and Tobey Maguire in 2002's Spiderman into second place.

Roughly 3,000 movie fans were polled by cosmetic dentists Glee in London.

George Peppard and Audrey Hepburn's passionate kiss in the rain at the end of the 1961 hit Breakfast At Tiffany's was named as the third most memorable kiss.

Meanwhile, Demi Moore and Patrick Swayze's smooch in the supernatural weepy Ghost came fourth, while the same-sex kiss between Jake Gyllenhaal and Heath Ledger in the Oscar-winning Brokeback Mountain came fifth.

Kisses from Titanic, Mr And Mrs Smith and Casablanca also made the top ten.

Adnan Rehman from Glee told the Mirror: "These epic movie kisses really reflect the variety of situations in our lives which are sealed with a kiss."
