Click is this week's top flick

Cinema-goers are favouring comedy this week as Adam Sandler movie Click hits number one at the UK box office.

Click, which also stars Kate Beckinsale and David Hasslehoff, tells the story of a workaholic who discovers he can fast-forward, rewind and pause his life using a magic remote control.

Hoodwinked - the animated re-invention of the Red Riding Hood fairy tale - trails behind at number two, reports the Guardian. It features the vocal talents of Anne Hathaway who also stars in The Devil Wears Prada and was released last week.

World Trade Centre and Children Of Men are third and fourth in the chart, the first starring Nicholas Cage and Michael Pena as New York police officers trapped underneath the rubble of the twin towers.

Dystopian thriller Children of Men features Clive Owen and Julianne Moore in an attempt to save mankind by protecting the world's last pregnant woman.

More comedies can be found in the bottom half of the top ten, with Owen Wilson's You, Me and Dupree at number nine and Talledega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby at number six.

Talledega Nights is the latest film from funnyman Will Ferrell and also stars Sacha Baron Cohen – better known to us Brits as Ali G.
