Witherspoon lines up next project

4 stars out of 5.0
Oscar-winning actress Reese Witherspoon is to produce Bell Witch, a film about a woman who experiences strange phenomena and consequently becomes obsessed by a supernatural legend.

Scott Kosar, who wrote the remakes of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre and The Amityville Horror, is scripting the movie which Witherspoon may also star in, according to Empire Online.

Awarded the best actress Oscar for her portrayal of June Carter in Johnny Cash biopic Walk the Line, Witherspoon's varied roster of films includes the light-hearted comedy Legally Blonde and its sequel, Legally Blonde 2: Red, White & Blonde.

Witherspoon also took the lead role of overachiever Tracy Flick in Election, a black comedy from the writer/director of Sideways, Alexander Payne. The film also featured Matthew Broderick, who is probably best known as Ferris in the classic eighties film, Ferris Bueller's Day Off.

The actress is married to Ryan Phillippe who starred in this year's Oscar winner for best picture, Crash. They both acted opposite Sarah Michelle Gellar in 1999's teen film Cruel Intentions.
