Cruise swaps Paramount for United ArtistsTwo months ago, Cruise parted from Paramount amid rumours that the studio was not happy with his high-profile private life. However, the new deal is expected to see the actor and his long-term business partner, Paula Wagner, produce a number of movies for United Artists, many of which Tom will also star in. Last seen in Mission: Impossible III, Cruise's roster of films includes Minority Report, Collateral, The Firm and Vanilla Sky. He also featured in Stanley Kubrick's last film, Eyes Wide Shut, which co-starred Nicole Kidman - Cruise's now ex-wife. Although nominated for three Oscars, the actor is yet to win one. He was in the running for best actor in Born on the Fourth of July in 1990 and Jerry Maguire in 1997, while also being nominated for best supporting actor in 2000 for his role in Magnolia.
