Sex and the City movie could be back on

4 stars out of 5.0
Negotiations for a film adaptation of television series Sex and the City have begun again, after originally stalling two years ago.

The series, about four professional and fashion-conscious women in Manhattan, ran for six years and starred Sarah Jessica Parker, Kim Catrall, Cynthia Nixon and Kristin Davis.

After the last episode, plans for a movie version were discussed but broke down after rumours circulated that certain members of the cast did not want to participate.

However, OK! magazine quoted a source, who said: "Obviously, there is still a lot to be worked out contractually, but it would be amazing to get this project off the ground."

Each of the actresses involved have completed a number of film and television projects since the show's finale, which saw main character Carrie get together with her long-time love, Mr Big.

Sarah Jessica Parker - who played Carrie - recently starred in The Family Stone, a comedy about a woman who finds it difficult to fit in with her boyfriend's family.

In addition, this year saw Parker perform on-screen opposite Matthew McConaughey in the romantic comedy Failure to Launch, which co-starred Zooey Deschanel and Bradley Cooper.
