Ericson Core confirmed to direct true crime film

4 stars out of 5.0
Ericson Core is set to direct a new crime thriller Conrail, based on the true story of a gang of New Jersey train-jackers.

Based on the Robin Hood-style exploits of Eddie Mongon and the Conrail Boyz Gang, the New Line movie will have Core at its helm according to reports.

Core was the cinematographer on the Ben Affleck superhero adaptation Daredevil and action flick The Fast and the Furious and has recently finished Invincible, starring Mark Wahlberg.

He is also set to be on directorial duty for Liberty, a biopic about a man who escaped the Nazis and won the Boston Marathon.

Conrail will explore the life of Eddie Mongon, who used high-tech equipment to commit train robberies and shared the spoils with poor communities in New Jersey.

Other films Core has worked on during his career include the 1999 Mel Gibson hit Payback.
