Will Smith considering new role

Music and film star Will Smith has signed on to produce a new romantic comedy, although has not confirmed yet whether he is to star in it.

My Wife Hates Your Wife could see Smith portray the husband of a woman who falls out with their mutual friend.

It would add another comedy to the acting CV of Smith, who shot to fame in the early 1990s as a rapper and star of The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air.

Recently appearing on cinema screens in Hitch and Shark Tale, the actor also made the switch to more serious roles in movies such as I, Robot, Ali and Enemy Of The State.

He is also known as one half of alien-fighting team Men in Black, alongside Tommy Lee Jones in the hit comedy and its sequel Men In Black II.

And he has made a habit of acting in buddy-style movies, as he also formed a partnership with Martin Lawrence in action movies Bad Boys and Bad Boys II playing detective Mike Lowrey.
