All-star cast in The Holiday

A new romantic comedy is hitting British cinema screens this weekend, featuring an all-star cast of Kate Winslet, Cameron Diaz, Jack Black and Jude Law.

The Holiday sees two women dealing with relationship issues and deciding to participate in a home-swapping project, where they each find new men in unlikely circumstances.

Although Diaz is no stranger to light-hearted film fare - having shot to fame in movies such as The Mask and There's Something About Mary - Winslet is more commonly known for period pieces and dramatic roles.

This year has seen the British actress in ensemble thriller All The King's Men and dark suburban drama Little Children, while 2002 saw her Oscar-nominated for her role as the young Iris Murdoch in biopic Iris.

Early roles for Winslet - who is married to American Beauty director Sam Mendes - included Marianne Dashwood in Sense and Sensibility and Ophelia in Hamlet.
