Jason Lee fills time off from Earl

4 stars out of 5.0
In addition to starring in My Name Is Earl, Jason Lee has lined up his next project to be filmed during the comedy series' summer break.

Krater is to feature the handlebar-moustachioed actor as the leader of a rock band who secretly harbours ambitions to star on Broadway - much to the disgust of his fellow rockers.

He is set to produce the movie, which is not the first to feature him as the front-man in a troubled band.

Almost Famous starred Lee as Jeff Bebe, who led fictional rock group Stillwater to success in Cameron Crowe's heart-warming movie.

In addition to starring in a number of Kevin Smith films such as Chasing Amy, Mallrats and Dogma, the versatile actor has also lent his vocal talents to animated features such as Monster House and The Incredibles, in which he played the villainous Buddy Pine.

He is currently filming the third series of My Name Is Earl, alongside Jaime Pressly who plays Joy Turner.
