Hathaway and Biel win breakthrough awards

Anne Hathaway and Jessica Biel have both walked away with prizes at the Hollywood Magazine Breakthrough Awards held in Los Angeles.

Hathaway, who began her career in films such as The Princess Diaries and Ella Enchanted, was awarded the Star of the Year prize, reports Wenn.

She has recently returned to comedic territory with her turn as naive intern Andy Sachs in The Devil Wears Prada, after cutting her teeth in dramatic roles such as Lureen Newsome in Brokeback Mountain.

Jessica Biel was also awarded at the ceremony for her work in Vienna-set The Illusionist, although the past couple of years have also seen her appear in films such as Stealth, Rules of Attraction and Elizabethtown.

The versatile actress has also lent her vocal talents to an episode of animated comedy series Family Guy, where she played Brooke, the object of Brian the dog's affections.
