Nicole goes down the Rabbit Hole

Nicole Kidman is to star in and produce a new film entitled Rabbit Hole, but far from being about a girl called Alice, the plot instead revolves around a tragedy-stricken couple.

Previously an award-winning Broadway play, Rabbit Hole tells the story of a husband and wife who endure a highly emotional journey to recover the happiness they lost through unforeseen circumstances.

On stage, the lead female role was played by Sex and the City star Cynthia Nixon, who won a Tony award for her performance.

Although it is unconfirmed that Kidman will assume the same role, her versatility as an actress could benefit the project.

In addition to big blockbusters such as Moulin Rouge and Bewitched, she has also starred in a wide range of movies encompassing a number of genres.

Dogville featured minimal sets and starred Kidman as a young woman who hides in a small town to escape her previous life, while Practical Magic saw her team with Miss Congeniality star Sandra Bullock in a fun family tale of witchcraft.
