Say goodbye to The O.C

4 stars out of 5.0
Fans of the The O.C could be saddened to hear that the show, now in its fourth season, has been axed by Fox.

Set in the real-life town of Orange County, California, the series launched the careers of actors such as Mischa Barton, Adam Brody and Rachel Bilson, who played the super-rich teens Marissa, Seth and Summer.

The show has achieved wide commercial success, succeeding dramas such as Dawson's Creek and Beverly Hills 90210 with its own brand of fashion, music and humour.

However, after the exit of Mischa Barton's character at the end of the third series, ratings have fallen and Fox has cancelled the show, with the last episode set to air in February in the US.

Creator Josh Schwartz said that the finale will bring ''real closure to the series, to the story we began telling four years ago".

Those wishing to give the show a good send-off can catch up on the first three seasons of the show, which are currently available on DVD.
