Bateman and Robin?

3 stars out of 5.0
Fans of now-cancelled TV sitcom Arrested Development might be interested to hear that Jason Bateman, who played level-headed Michael Bluth in the show, has signed up for a new superhero movie.

While not quite in the same vein as Superman Returns or X-Men, Tonight, He Comes tells the story of a burnt-out middle-aged people's champion played by Will Smith, Variety notes.

Yet the has-been hero finds his image being revamped after he saves public relations executive Bateman, whose wife is expected to be played by Monster star Charlize Theron.

Bateman also starred in last year's romantic comedy The Break-Up and features alongside Alicia Keys and Jeremy Piven in the forthcoming Smokin' Aces.

Although lasting for just three seasons, Arrested Development featured a number of guest stars alongside Bateman and Portia De Rossi, who played ex-socialite Lindsay.

The comedy series featured a voice-over narration from Happy Days star Ron Howard, while also starring Henry Winkler (best known for his role as The Fonz) as a crooked lawyer.
