Berry, Diaz and Pirates win at People's Choice Awards

4 stars out of 5.0
Leading ladies Halle Berry, Cameron Diaz and Jennifer Aniston were all winners at the 33rd annual People's Choice Awards, with Pirates Of The Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest also picking up a couple of trophies.

The film swashbuckled its way to the title of best film and best drama, while Diaz was named as the favourite leading lady of the year having starred in The Holiday.

Although Captain Jack Sparrow, also known as Johnny Depp, could not attend the ceremony, he appeared via satellite to thank the fans for voting.

"I know that I've said this before. But the fact that this award comes from the people, makes it all the more special," he said, according to CTVglobemedia.

Berry reprised her role as weather-controlling superhero Storm in X-Men: The Last Stand and was awarded the prize for favourite female action star.

Former Friends star Jennifer Aniston was chosen as favourite female star after featuring in The Break-Up with on-again-off-again boyfriend Vince Vaughn.
