Spotless mind casts new movie

3 stars out of 5.0
Visually and thematically innovative writer Charlie Kaufman has announced the casting for his next movie, which tells the story of an ambitious theatre director and the women in his life.

Synecdoche, New York, is the latest project from Kaufman, who wrote cult hits such as Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind and Being John Malkovich.

And although he usually works in collaboration with directors such as Spike Jonze and Michel Gondry, Kaufman will this time take the helm of the movie, which is set to star Michelle Williams, Catherine Keener and Phillip Seymour Hoffman, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

He also teamed up with Jonze on 2002's Adaptation, the mind-bending story of twin brothers (both played by Nicolas Cage) who battle against each other when one is asked to adapt a book written by Susan Orlean, played by Meryl Streep.

In addition to his movie projects, Jonze is known to many as the star of Fatboy Slim's dance troupe music video for the song Praise You.
