J.J Abrams completes Star Trek XI scriptIntended for release some time in 2008, the film is to tell the story of Captain Kirk and Mr Spock in their formative years, Studio Briefing reports. And Abrams, who is responsible for creating the super-spy drama series Alias and worldwide hit show Lost, said that everyone will be able to enjoy the film, regardless of whether they are existing fans of the legendary science fiction series. "On the one hand, for people who love Star Trek, the fix that they will get will be really satisfying," he told Entertainment Weekly. But for non-Trekkies, he added: "I think they will enjoy it equally, because the movie does not require you to know anything about Star Trek." In addition to his successful television career, Abrams took the helm of 2006's blockbuster Mission: Impossible 3, directing Tom Cruise as secret agent Ethan Hunt.
