Aces high for Laurence Fishburne

4 stars out of 5.0
Laurence Fishburne, who audiences have seen in many guises including those of Ike Turner and ship captain Morpheus in The Matrix, has signed on to appear in a casino-themed thriller.

Also starring Kevin Spacey, 21 is to tell the story of six college friends who are trained to count cards and beat Las Vegas Blackjack tables in order to win millions of dollars.

The film is based on Ben Mezrich's widely popular book, Bringing Down The House - although this is not to be confused with the recent Queen Latifah comedy of the same name.

Fishburne is set to play the city's security chief who embarks on a quest to stop the group, which relies on a complex set of hand gestures and mathematical patterns to win.

The actor can also be seen in the forthcoming cinema release Bobby, while fans can catch up on his previous work with movies such as Event Horizon or Boyz n the Hood.
