A host of potential classics debut at SundanceAnd this year's event, which started this week, looks to be no exception, featuring a movie entitled Year Of The Dog written and directed by Mike White, who audiences might not recognise but whose films they may have seen. Fans of musical comedy School Of Rock, which White wrote, might know him as the shy and downtrodden Ned Schneebly, who finds his identity stolen by best friend Jack Black. He also penned the script for Orange County and The Good Girl, a black comedy featuring Jennifer Aniston as a shop assistant who cheats on her husband with Donnie Darko star Jake Gyllenhaal. Prior to his movie writing career, White wrote and produced many episodes of fashionable teen drama series Dawson's Creek, which followed a group of school friends in a quiet American town.
