Hot Fuzz premieres in London

5 stars out of 5.0
London's Leicester Square was the venue for Hot Fuzz last night, as the premiere of Simon Pegg's new comedy hit the capital.

Following on from zombie-parody Shaun of the Dead, Pegg and his long-time co-star Nick Frost star in Hot Fuzz which lampoons the action genre and tells the story of a police officer who is relocated to a sleepy town.

Director Edgar Wright, who has worked with the duo since their cult television series Spaced, said that the cast took great pleasure in recreating big action scenes.

"It's such fun doing things that are right there in front of you - explosions, splatter effects, stunts - you watch these things and go 'wow, that looks cool'," he told Empire Online.

The film also stars Bill Bailey, who can be regularly seen on Never Mind the Buzzcocks but also starred as Bilbo Bagshot in Spaced and Manny Bianco in Black Books, while a former Bond - Timothy Dalton - also makes an appearance in the movie.
