Leicester Square hosts 300 premiere

4 stars out of 5.0
Lovers of partly-animated Sin City may enjoy the new film to be adapted from Frank Miller's graphic novels, 300, which saw its premiere in London's Leicester Square last night.

The movie tells of the tough Battle of Thermopylae in 480 BC and is currently residing at the top of the US box office, while its stars took to the red carpet in the UK capital ahead of its release here next Friday.

"This is really, really fabulous," exclaimed Lena Headey, who plays the beautiful Queen Gorgo.

Headey told Empire about her character at the star-studded premiere: "She's strong, independent and handles things pretty well. I really liked her."

Other members of the cast of 300 include David Wenham, who played Faramir in second and third instalments of the Lord of the Rings trilogy.

Rodrigo Santoro - who featured in Love Actually and can currently be seen in mystery series Lost - also stars in the film, as does Gerard Butler and Dominic West.
