Spider-Man 3 premieres in London

4 stars out of 5.0
After its world premiere in Tokyo, Spider-Man 3 received its UK debut in Leicester Square last night, with most of the cast hitting the red carpet.

Tobey Maguire, who plays the split-personality superhero, was in attendance, as was Kirsten Dunst, who portrays love interest Mary-Jane, Topher Grace (Venom) and James Franco (the Green Goblin), among others.

The premiere is the second of nine set to take place across the globe, which will involve the cast jetting to each city in order to greet the thousands of fans sure to be waiting at each one.

"I totally understand this kind of fan reception because I'm a huge, huge fan of these movies myself," Topher told Empire last night. "I was a fan of the comic book when I was a kid - specifically the period in which my character was created."

It is Topher's first appearance in the Spider-Man trilogy, after he shot to fame in comedy series That '70s Show and films such as In Good Company.
