Ridley and Russell to team up for Nottingham

3 stars out of 5.0
British director Ridley Scott is to team up once again with Gladiator star Russell Crowe in Nottingham, a remake of the classic Robin Hood story.

However, the film will see the Sheriff of Nottingham portrayed as a noble and loyal lawman reluctantly working for a corrupt leader, reports Variety.

Crowe is set to star as the sheriff, who is usually portrayed as an enemy of Robin Hood in the traditional stories and was once played by Alan Rickman in Robin Hood: Prince Of Thieves, which starred Kevin Costner as the eponymous hero.

Prior to Nottingham, Ridley is to direct Body of Lies, a CIA thriller featuring Leonardo DiCaprio, while he has recently completed shooting on American Gangster, a crime drama.

Fans of Ridley may want to catch up on his work, including classics such as Alien, Blade Runner, Thelma & Louise and Black Hawk Down.
