Shrek the Third premieres in US

4 stars out of 5.0
Animated comedy Shrek The Third premiered in the US this weekend, with attendees including Cameron Diaz, Mike Myers and Antonio Banderas, all of which lend their vocal talents to the movie.

Also treading the red carpet - which was replaced with green in honour of the ogre's skin colour - was Eddie Murphy, who voices the lovable and hilarious Donkey, Shrek's sidekick in all three films of the series so far.

Of the latest instalment, he said more characters were included in the story, including new addition to the cast Justin Timberlake, who plays Artie.

"The story isn't so much Shrek and Donkey and Fiona," Murphy told the BBC. "It's everybody, everybody's got funny stuff to do … but what's remained consistent is the sweetness."

Shrek the Third opens in the UK on June 29th, although eager fans can currently rent both Shrek and Shrek 2 on DVD.
