Pirates stays atop the UK chart

Family comedy Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End stayed firmly anchored to the top spot of the UK box office chart this week, ahead of Wedding Gaze at number two.

Starring Jason Biggs and Isla Fisher, Wedding Gaze is a light-hearted and humorous take on dating and could be perfect for those looking for a fun night at the cinema.

Meanwhile, two horror movies entered the top ten this week, with grisly remake The Hitcher at number six and teen slasher flick Paradise Lost entering at number four.

Spider-Man 3 hangs on at number three, with Mr Bean's Holiday still inside the chart having spent ten weeks on release so far.

UK cinemas look like they could be full of sequels this summer, with forthcoming releases including Ocean's Thirteen, Shrek the Third, Evan Almighty and Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer.

Eager fans, however, can currently rent the previous titles in each series on DVD.
