Bill Murray to star in City of Ember

3 stars out of 5.0
Following his legendary roles in films such as Lost In Translation and The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou, actor Bill Murray is to star in a new fantasy drama entitled City of Ember.

The Hollywood Reporter confirmed that Murray, who also played the cuckolded Raleigh St Clair in 2001's The Royal Tenenbaums, is to portray mayor of a city which is literally fading into darkness as its power generator runs out.

Based on a novel, the movie follows two teenagers as they search Ember for clues which will bring it to life again.

While shooting is set to begin this summer with Monster House director Gil Kenan, only one fellow cast member is confirmed as yet.

Murray may be known to many for his legendary role as Dr Peter Venkman in the Ghostbusters series, but he is widely considered to have changed direction recently, featuring in lower-budget and lesser-known films such as Broken Flowers and Coffee and Cigarettes.
