Mischa Barton joins The Sophomore

Popular actress and star of The OC, Mischa Barton, is set to feature alongside Bruce Willis and his daughter Rumer in a new movie entitled The Sophomore.

Announced today in the Hollywood Reporter, Barton is to play a Catholic school girl who discovers corruption is rife amongst the students and teachers.

Bruce Willis is to play the school's headmaster, while his daughter - born during his marriage to Demi Moore - is to star as Barton's best friend in the dark comedy.

Although she may be best known as rich party girl Marissa Cooper in three series of teen drama The OC, one of Barton's earliest roles was in The Sixth Sense in which she played a dead girl who only young boy Cole Sear can see.

She also had a smaller part as a young actress in the British comedy Notting Hill and can soon be seen in a remake of St Trinian's.
