Fantastic Four hits the top

4 stars out of 5.0
UK audiences showed their loyalty this week as superhero sequel Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer hit the top of the box office chart.

Debuting at number one with around £4.14 million in receipts, the film, starring Jessica Alba and Ioan Gruffudd as two of the four genetically-altered scientists, pipped Ocean's Thirteen to the post and pushed it into second place.

The chart from AC Nielsen also saw the third Pirates of the Caribbean instalment at number three this week after four weeks on release, while new entry Vacancy, featuring Luke Wilson and Kate Beckinsale as a couple who stay in a sinister motel, spent its first week at number four.

Bollywood hits Sivaji and Jhoon Barabar Jhoon entered at nine and six respectively, with French thrilelr Tell No One at number eight. Tell No One is based on an action-packed novel by Harlan Coben and is directed by Guillaume Canet, who previously starred in The Beach.
