Bruce Willis beaten once again

4 stars out of 5.0
Last week he was beaten by an animated rat, this week it is a Scottish ogre - it seems that no matter what, Bruce Willis' Die Hard 4.0 cannot quite make it to the top of the box office.

Following its number two placing in the US chart - behind Ratatouille - Die Hard 4.0 also debuted with a silver medal in the UK top ten, generating a weekend gross of over £5 million.

Shrek the Third stayed at number one, while the longest-runner in the table is now Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End having been on release for seven weeks, according to AC Nielsen's data.

No other new entries joined Die Hard in the top ten, although this week sees the release of the latest Harry Potter instalment which is sure to be popular with fans of all ages.

Rounding off the chart was Kate Beckinsale in Vacancy at number ten, while the blood-soaked sequel Hostel: Part II hung in at number six.
