The Simpsons Movie gets a premiere spotThe region, which is situated in the north-east of the US, challenged over a dozen other Springfields in the country for the honour, but took first place and will now host the premiere. Scheduled for July 21st, the movie will be shown at the town's local cinema and is likely to see many of the 9,300 residents hunting for autographs outside. And while the other competitors may be downhearted at losing the challenge, Vermont governor Jim Douglas offered his condolences: "To all the other Springfields, I say, 'don't have a cow man'." Meanwhile, the marketing campaign for the animated movie continued in full swing yesterday, as selected 7-11 gas stations across the country were transformed into Kwik-E-Marts, complete with Squishees, Krusty-Os and Buzz Cola all available to buy.
