New Michael Moore doc to open in October

4 stars out of 5.0
The latest offering from documentary filmmaker Michael Moore is set to finally reach British shores at the end of October, it has been revealed.

Sicko, an investigation into the US health care system, is scheduled for release in the UK on October 26th, three months after its US premiere.

The film follows Moore's previous documentaries Fahrenheit 9/11 and Bowling for Columbine. The first studied the effects of a terrorist attack and the invasion of Iraq while the latter, made in 2002, concentrated on the availability of guns and weaponry throughout the US.

Indeed, documentaries appear to remain as popular now as ever, with true-life stories such as Enron: The Smartest Guys in the Room and The Corporation providing DVD lovers with facts and figures while telling an interesting story.

Others, such as Al Gore's climate change-themed An Inconvenient Truth and the aforementioned Bowling for Columbine, have received Oscars in the best documentary feature category.
